201111 Newsletter
Dear Family and Friends,
Thank you for reading and praying for the KGM work this year, it is with appreciation. Attached is the KGM Calendar for 2012, I would value your prayers already for the work next year. Next year God willing we shall have Saturday Bible clubs in new schools and invite some schools that are within close proximity of one another. Please pray that the Lord blesses these relationships and that some will come forward to help with the children's work in Tembisa and see the importance of it in their community. The new schools we will be working with, will be : Bojelong, Seotloana, Tshepisa, Tlhakanang, Mvelaphanda, Isekelo, Khulasizwe and Shukumani Primary Schools.
How has this term been up until now? Well there have been blessings and there have been trials. The schools have received extra workers to assist with security at the gate, sports after school and supervision of homework. This has greatly impacted the afternoon Bible clubs, children are now running around and making big lots of noise, and so this term's teaching has been made difficult and at times I have had to stop altogether. This has been disappointing, as I have the most precious and wonderful Good News to share with these young ones. I am not sure what will transpire next year regarding this new school programme, - guidance and wisdom comes from the Lord, so we wait on Him as He leads Isaiah 58:11 And the Lord will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
The THBC- Tembisa Holiday Bible Club held in October had few children, but amazingly children came from 12 different schools and two schools from outside Tembisa – Birchacres and Birchleigh Hoerskool. The children listened and participated well, and as always loved the missionary story on the life of David Brainerd. They took in the smaller details of the story and answered the questions enthusiastically. Missionary stories are a great tool for teaching the children spiritual truths.
Mrs Mkhize, the principal of Nyiko Primary came to a Birchleigh Baptist Church Sunday service a few weeks back. It was good to have her and her grandchildren visit us, and lovely to be with her outside of the Tembisan environment.
My sister was visiting me, and was able to come along to the schools and be part of the teaching. The children always enjoy seeing new faces in their classrooms and it was an encouragement to myself and the children.
Gayle's clubs at Inxiweni and Mashemong Primary continue on well. We had a Saturday Bible club at Mashemong, many children attended and some parents of the children were there to hear the message and afterwards helped with the handing out of food and drinks, washing up and drying.
Nthabiseng, Rebecca and Matthews are enjoying their new Saturday club at Phuthumani Primary, they are teaching the Children Desiring God material – Jesus, what a Saviour! and are being strengthened by the Lord for the work that He has for them.
Tim has been coming along with me on Tuesday afternoons to the Endulweni Bible club as an extra pair of hands and feet. It makes all the difference and has been encouraging as we talk afterwards about how the club went and the response of the children.
Due to a monthly donation for the tract ministry, nineteen tracts have been printed. Please pray for someone who will come alongside me in the handing out of tracts into the community.
Octavia Skhosanna used to work in the offices at Siphiwe Primary and has since moved and is working for the government. She has a Sunday School running in Tsakane township and will be using teaching material that Gayle has compiled.
SBC – Springs Baptist Church had their mission's weekend and on that Friday evening I worked with their children. Their Bible club is called "The Beavers", it was good to get to know their children better and share the Gospel of Christ with them.
Thank you to those who assisted in one way or another throughout this year. For those who would want to involve themselves next year, much help is needed for the Saturday Bible clubs and outreaches and the three THBC's – Tembisa Holiday Bible clubs planned.
Deuteronomy 10:12 and 13 And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you, but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to love Him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all you soul and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord, which I am commanding you today for your good.
